Optimum Connections dates back to early 1993 when Adrian Barker had a vision. This was to provide first class networking products, and affordable prices, and to deliver on his own vehicles wherever possible – providing the service levels never seen before in the industry.

Shortly afterwards Optimum was “born” It was apparent after a period of business that a more comprehensive range of products was being requested by the ever increasing customer base – and it was in those formative months that some of the Manufacturers were knocking on the Optimum door to distribute product. R W Data, now Hellermann Tyton, were one of the first manufacturers that joined the fold, and that relationship continues as strong as ever to this day HT is the only structured cabling manufacturer that we distribute for.

With changes in data and server cabinets requirements, and ever demanding delivery schedules it was Prism who provided the manufacturing capability to spearhead further growth. With companies such as Nexans, Ackerman, Marshall Tufflex, Mita, Austin Taylor, Dataracks, D-Link, Netgear, Rose, Aphel, Pfanneberg all joining in the formative years, and recently to aid clients with specification and value. Optimum is well placed to provide installers, System Integrators, ISP’s and trade bodies the products that meet or exceed current and future requirements.
